Martha Clippinger: Abacus is comprised of textiles, painted wood constructions, and works on paper. Clippinger is the recipient of numerous grants and awards, including an American Academy of Arts and Letters Purchase Award; a Fulbright-Garcia Robles research grant completed in Oaxaca, Mexico; and awards from MacDowell Colony; The Edward F. Albee Foundation; and The Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation. Clippinger shows regularly with Elizabeth Harris, NY, and her work has been featured in The Brooklyn Rail, Hyperallergic, and The Huffington Post. The artist lives and works in Durham, North Carolina.
